The Patient Data Analysis Information System: Addressing Data and Information Quality Issues

issuu.com/academic-conferences.org/docs/ejise-volume1...
This paper reports on the development and initial end-user evaluation (after ten months in-use) of a Patient Data Analysis Information System (PDA-IS) for Geriatric Medicine. The development and evaluation is the first phase of a larger ongoing research project. The PDA-IS contains a set of high integrity patient data records (a local practice-based repository of clinical patient data) available for the Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine. The evaluation of the system identifies the wide range of benefits that were realised by the Consultant Physician and indeed could be expected in the future from the deployment and extension of such a flexible solution for all Consultant Physicians in hospital practice that need to collect patient data.

An Analysis of Three SERVQUAL Variations in Measuring Information System Service Quality

issuu.com/academic-conferences.org/docs/ejise-volume1...
Service provided by the information system (IS) department within an organization has come to be considered a major component of IS success. The determination of service quality is considered as a comparison process between an expected level of service and the service perceived by the user. In past research, an IS adaptation of the SERVQUAL measure from the marketing literature was commonly used since it considers both the expectation and performance components of service quality. IS researchers have applied the IS SERVQUAL metric in various forms, including as a difference score, as a single component only, and as two distinct components. The choice of an IS SERVQUAL variation was usually made based on psychometric properties of the scale or explained variance. Few considered the implications that the chosen form of IS SERVQUAL variation has on the relationship between service quality and a dependent variable such as satisfaction or on the theoretical interpretation of the...

Impact of the Three IS Qualities On User Satisfaction in an Information-Intensive Sector

issuu.com/academic-conferences.org/docs/ejise-volume2...
According to the literature, when Information Systems are assessed, the variables and their relationships should be contextualized. This paper therefore considers the relationships between the three main quality variables (system, service and information) and satisfaction in the context of banking, a highly information-intensive sector. Information quality plays an even more important role in a highly information-intensive sector. The conceptual framework of information intensity used to validate our model has been statistically tested by means of a structural equation modeling method. Our results support the hypothesized relationships: system and service quality have a significant influence on information quality which, in turn, exercises a significant influence on satisfaction.

The Evaluation of Software Quality Factors in Very Large Information Systems

issuu.com/academic-conferences.org/docs/ejise-volume7...
A quality model links together and defines the various software metrics and measurement techniques that an organisation uses which when measured, the approach taken must be sufficiently general for hybrid hardware and software systems. In this work software quality factors that should be taken into account in very large information systems will be considered. Such systems will require a high degree of parallelism and will involve a large number of processing elements. We start by identifying the metrics and measurement approaches that can be used. Many of the quality factors would be applied in similar way for sequential and paralleldistributed architectures, however a number of factors will be investigated which are relevant to the parallel class. In such a system many elements can fail which can have major impact on the system's performance, and therefore it affects the costbenefit factors. Portability and usability are other major problems that need to be taken into account when...
