Gaseous Electronics

https://www.ebooks.com/cj.asp?IID=840389&fc=AU&cjsku=840389...
With the constant emergence of new research and application possibilities, gaseous electronics is more important than ever in disciplines including engineering (electrical, power, mechanical, electronics, and environmental), physics, and electronics. The first resource of its kind, Gaseous Electronics: Tables, Atoms, and Molecules fulfills the authorâs vision of a stand-alone reference to condense 100 years of research on electron-neutral collision data into one easily searchable volume. It presents mostâif not allâof the properly classified experimental results that scientists, researchers, and students require for a theoretical and practical understanding of collision properties and their impact. An unprecedented collection and analysis of electron neutral collision properties This book follows a new user-friendly format that enables readers to easily retrieve, analyze, and apply specific atomic/molecular information as needed. In his previous work, Gaseous Electronics: Theory and Practice, the author first explored electronâneutron interactions. To clarify the complex fundamental processes involved, he cited as much experimental data on atoms and molecules as limited space would allow. Completing that task, this handy reference more fully compiles essential revised data on more than 420 atoms and molecules, arranging it into easily digestible chapters, sections, and appendices. Analysis parameters include total scattering, ionization, excitation, attachment cross sections, ionization and attachment coefficients, attachment rates, and ion drift velocity. Some recent research areas in gaseous electronics include: Environmentally efficient and protective lighting devices Plasma research for power generation and space applications Medical applications (some involving skin treatment and healing) Written entirely in SI units, the book includes hundreds of tables, figures, and specially drawn charts, with data expressed in both tabular and graphical form. Each chapter stands independently and contains references for further research.

Superconductor Electronics

www.ebooks.com/cj.asp?IID=1288770&cjsku=1288770...
Recent research on superconductors with high critical temperature has led to results that were not available when the original German edition was prepared but could be included in the present English edition. This concerns materials based on bismuth and thallium, as well as measurements of low microwave loss. The author would like to thank Mr. A. H. Armstrong for translating the book from German to English in a very dedicated and competent manner. Thanks are also due once again to Springer-Verlag for their generous support and cordial cooperation. Bad Salzdetfurth September 1989 Johann H. Rinken Preface to the German Edition The development of materials which lose their electrical resistance when cooled, even before reaching the boiling point of liquid nitrogen, has considerably in creased the interest in superconductor technology, and with it superconductor electronics. This development had not been foreseen when work on the present book started, just over a year ago. Nevertheless, recent results of research on materials with high critical temperature are included to the extent that they seem to be confirmed and to be of interest to superconductor electronics. The present book deals with the physical and technological foundations of superconductor electronics so far as they must be known in order to under stand the principal modes of operation of superconductor electronics components.

Nuclear Electronics

www.ebooks.com/cj.asp?IID=1310117&cjsku=1310117...
Electronics is the most important tool in nuclear radiation metrology. Without electronic instruments most of the problems concerned with measurement in pure or applied nuclear research, radiation protection or the use of radioactive isotopes in industrial process control would remain unsolved. Conversely, the radiation metrology was one of the first areas, if not the first, outside communications in which electronic devices were successfully employed. The quantum nature of nuclear radiations deter mined the need to work with pulse-type signals and thus contributed substantially to the establishment of analog and digital pulse techniques in electronics. It was no coincidence that, as late as 1949, W. C. ELMORE and M. SANDS were able to call the first monograph on nuclear electronics quite simply "Electronics". Despite these close interrelations between electronics and radiation measurement in nuclear physics, there is virtually no modern monograph dealing with the specialized electronic circuits and instruments used in measuring nuclear radiation. ELMORE and SANDS has long since become obsolete and, similarly, the excellent works covering special areas of nuclear electronics (e. g. A. B. GILLESPIE'S "Signal, Noise and Resolution in Nuclear Counter Amplifiers", 1953; I. A. D. LEWIS and F. H. WELLS' "Millimicrosecond Pulse Techniques", 1959; or R. L. CHASE'S "Nuclear Pulse Spectrometry", 1961) now lag well behind the latest advances in technology*).

Basic Electronics

www.ebooks.com/cj.asp?IID=1828768&cjsku=1828768...
Basic Electronics is an elementary text designed for basic instruction in electricity and electronics. It gives emphasis on electronic emission and the vacuum tube and shows transistor circuits in parallel with electron tube circuits. This book also demonstrates how the transistor merely replaces the tube, with proper change of circuit constants as required. Many problems are presented at the end of each chapter. This book is comprised of 17 chapters and opens with an overview of electron theory, followed by a discussion on resistance, inductance, and capacitance, along with their effects on the currents flowing in circuits under constant applied voltages. Resistances, inductances, and capacitances in series and parallel are considered. The following chapters focus on impedance and factors affecting impedance; electronics and electron tubes; semiconductors and transistors; basic electronic circuits; and basic amplifier circuits. Tuned circuits, basic oscillator circuits, and electronic power supplies are also described, together with transducers, antennas, and modulators and demodulators. This monograph will serve as background training in theory for electronic technicians and as fundamental background for students who wish to go deeper into the more advanced aspects of electronics.

Physical Electronics

www.ebooks.com/cj.asp?IID=1834347&cjsku=1834347...
Handbook of Vacuum Physics, Volume 2: Physical Electronics, Parts 2 and 3 focuses on the processes, methodologies, and reactions involved in thermionic emission and secondary electron emission. The publication first offers information on the theory of thermionic cathodes and measurements on thermionic cathodes. Discussions focus on emission equation and velocity distribution of emitted electrons, surface phenomena and work function, band theory of solids, electrical conductivity, and measurements in special devices and practical tubes. The text then ponders on various types of thermionic cathodes, as well as core metal, compounds used for coating and their preparation, decomposition and activation, properties of oxide cathodes, and evaporation of oxide-coated cathodes. The manuscript takes a look at secondary emission of metals and insulators. Topics include energy distribution of secondary electrons from insulators; stability of secondary emission yield from insulators; influence of temperature on the total yield; electron bombardment induced conductivity; and variation of secondary emission with angle of incidence of primaries. The book then examines the technology of secondary emitting materials, including surfaces for use in electron multipliers and preparation of secondary emitting surfaces for use in storage tubes. The publication is a valuable reference for readers interested in in thermionic emission and secondary electron emission.
