The story is set in the sand dunes of the Kalahari Desert of Namibia during the 1990s, after the cessation of the border war between South Africa and Namibian freedom fighters. Dances in the Desert is storytelling at its finest. About the Author: John D'Alton grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. He holds a degree in theology and is now a missionary in Tsumeb, northern Namibia. He has worked on a farm in the Kalahari and has been an auto mechanic. "I started a post secondary school for underprivileged students and I teach Bible and English when I am not too busy with administration of the school or the orphanage my wife and I established."
