Olmon Hairston, has written The Projects (The Harlem I Remember Through The Eyes of a Child and Young Man). This story involves growing up in the St. Nicholas housing projects in Harlem, New York, during the 1950s and 60s. He believes that the projects, despite negative connotations, can serve as a foundation for residents to develop a sense of upward mobility. Olmon is committed to helping inner-city youth and all students realize that goals are attainable. When he was assigned as a counselor to several leading upper-middle class schools in Queens with small minority populations, Olmon demonstrated the ability to work with all students, despite their race or social status. Although Olmon didn't realize it at the time, but these students were replicating his teenage experience with their parents, who understood the importance of navigating the educational system to ensure that their children received a quality education. For years Olmon was the only professional educator of color (male or female) who was a counselor in predominantly white schools, but he never lost his sense of who he was or what purpose he served to all students. He consistently received accolades from administrators, parents, students, colleagues, and supervisors. Olmon was one of several full-time supervisors who managed a school-based counseling program that focused on providing services that specifically addressed issues related to drug and alcohol prevention/intervention and other areas e.g. bullying, developing positive self-esteem and making smart choices. After acquiring the required educational credentials and related experience, Olmon obtained his New York State Education Department Certification as SAS (School Administrator and Supervisor), SDL (School District Leader) and SBL (School Building Leader), which qualified him for school leadership positions such as principal, assistant principal, superintedent and education administrator. employed.

He felt that God had called him to the ministry and his goal was to attend Mount Vernon University. While finishing the last year of his high school, the pastor selected five young people in his church who wanted to go into full time ministry and gave each of them a project to do to learn how to deal with people and how to witness. Levi listened as the pastor gave the assignments out to each student. He was shocked when his father gave him the task of befriending a girl with a bad reputation. He was to try to lead her to the Lord. He had seen the girl go into Jacquelyn Johansen's home. She was dirty with tangled hair and looked simply terrible. How in the world was he going to accomplish his task?

Hope. Love. Longing. Fear. Anger. Pain. Despair. These are the emotions that unify all human beings regardless of race, culture, country, or social standing. This poetic anthology is a self examination by the author of how she experiences these emotions in her own life, which serves as an example for our own suffering. Are we all doomed to feel these emotions in these stages or is it more like a circle, with hope leading to despair and back to hope again?Like the sinking of the Titanic, the loss of the author was a tragedy, especially for someone who brought so much happiness to all those around her. And like the Titanic whose treasures were unearthed after her sinking, so too is this book of poems a treasure brought back to the surface for you to enjoy. One of the first of many.

It began, as each of their previous trips had begun, with wonderful weather, family togetherness, and a sense of adventure. It would end with the kidnapping of Doctor John Jennings's family, and his own flight into the forest to save himself from certain death. John fled into the unknown wilderness of the Ozarks, moving steadily to the northwest in hope of coming across a road, or perhaps, with any luck, a town. What he finally came across was the home of Cordell Heartley, a recluse spelunker, living sometimes in his cabin, and at other times in his caves. Finding Cordell would lead John into the adventure of his life, and to the discovery of an illegal, covert military operation, known as The Threef Project. Heartley, an ex-U.S. Army Ranger, was soon to become John Jennings' only hope of ever seeing his family again.
